About the position

Pronto is hiring friendly, dependable Lincoln-area residents to serve as Community Coordinators for the Pronto Huskers Shuttle.

We assign one coordinator to each of our four Lincoln pickup locations, plus a roving lead who covers absences, busy locations and anything that needs a second pair of hands:

Lincoln Northwest High School NW 49th & W Holdrege St
Lincoln North Star High School N 33rd & Fletcher Ave
SouthPointe Pavilions S 27th & Pine Lake Rd
Gateway Mall 61st & O St — our busiest location, twice the departures

This is more than temporary event staff. Each coordinator becomes Pronto's consistent representative for the passengers and the community served by that location. Our goal is to keep the same coordinator at each location through the rest of the football season and on into future games, concerts and special events.

We would rather hire someone who rides with us than someone with a long events CV. This work depends on reliability, warmth and local trust far more than on formal event-management experience. If you know your neighbourhood and people find you easy to deal with, you are the person we are looking for.

Game-day responsibilities

  • Arrive before the first scheduled shuttle departure and set up the passenger check-in area.
  • Welcome passengers and answer basic questions about the service.
  • Check passengers in using Pronto's online manifest and QR-code system.
  • Verify that each passenger holds a confirmed reservation for the correct departure.
  • Ensure that only confirmed passengers board each shuttle.
  • Organise passenger lines and support orderly, on-time boarding.
  • Coordinate with drivers and with Pronto's central operations team.
  • Remain at the pickup location through the final inbound departure.
  • Travel to Memorial Stadium on the final inbound shuttle.
  • Manage check-in and boarding for your location's postgame return departures.
  • Return with the passengers to your pickup location.
  • Communicate delays, passenger concerns and operating issues promptly.
  • Build relationships with regular riders and gather feedback that helps us improve.
  • Submit a brief operating report after each game.

What we are looking for

  • Reliable, punctual and comfortable taking responsibility.
  • Friendly, patient and confident communicating with groups.
  • Organised, and calm in a busy environment.
  • Comfortable with a smartphone, a QR-code scanner and an online passenger manifest.
  • Able to follow a schedule and enforce reservation requirements courteously but firmly.
  • Familiar with Lincoln and the Husker fan community.
  • Available before and after the remaining Nebraska home football games.
  • Interested in coming back for future Pronto events.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old.
  • A smartphone with reliable cellular service.
  • Dependable transportation to your assigned pickup location.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Prepared to work outdoors in varying weather.
  • Available from roughly three hours before kickoff through the completion of your location's postgame return service — about eight hours in total.
  • Previous customer-service, hospitality, transportation, event or community-outreach experience is helpful but not required.

Pay and hours

$25 per hour, with a six-hour minimum per game and paid training. A typical game day runs about eight hours — for a 6:15 PM kickoff, that means reporting around 2:45–3:15 PM and finishing when the last return shuttle reaches your lot, around 11:00 PM. Exact times shift with each kickoff and are confirmed in advance.

Training

Pronto provides paid training covering:

  • The iPronto manifest and QR-code check-in system
  • Reservation and boarding procedures
  • Passenger communications
  • Driver and operations-team coordination
  • Postgame return procedures
  • Incident escalation and reporting

How to apply

Email us with:

  • Your name and telephone number
  • Your preferred pickup location
  • Your availability for the remaining home games
  • A brief description of your customer-service, event or community experience
  • Why you would be a good representative for Pronto and the Husker community
